I find that, with age I have become increasingly more vulnerable to retching audibly at the mere mention of the band, “Metallica.” Given my condition, if you are a fan of the band, and like to talk about them, we likely won’t be friends for very long. Don’t take it personally. I’ve never been one to judge fans for their tastes, but I’m done hearing about them. I’ve spent the the past several decades quietly waiting for them to die off so we can put this whole silly business behind us. Regarding one band amongst many who defiantly survived MTV, I’d sooner drink myself into a stupor whilst listening to “punk-trap” or some similar noise before subjecting myself to glorified posers who chose the limelight over core values.
