I find that, with age I have become increasingly more vulnerable to retching audibly at the mere mention of the band, “Metallica.” Given my condition, if you are a fan of the band, and like to talk about them, we likely won’t be friends for very long.
It's just one of the reasons I stopped going to bars. Nothing dulls the taste of Irish whiskey quite like hearing some drunken fanboys rattle on about mediocre bands who sold out, when I've partied enough to have forgotten more talented groups than I'll ever remember.
I watched a documentary years ago and had to listen to Lars complain for the bulk of his air time, and I just checked out.
I dig Enter Sandman when it comes on the radio, and Ride the Lightning did what it did, but beyond that?
Which band were we talking about?

Absolutely. Even worse if they manage to dull the taste of Canadian whiskey. That takes extra skill. Posers can ruin many great things.
